Token Vesting
To allow the distribution of tokens to be automated to contributors with a vesting schedule.
Gating / Access with NFTs & Tokens
Use NFTs as a way to gate membership and access to join a Colony or specific teams within a Colony. It could also be used to enable special perks or status within their Colony.
Rewards
Allows a colony to define the rules and automatically handle the allocation and distribution of incoming revenue to contributors.
Budget Box
A mechanism for autonomously allocating funds. Funding is decided based on a simple “A” vs “B” pairwise voting preference. Learn more on the blog →
About Details
I would like to be able to add a description of the DAO and also profile image, logos, etc.
PopupDAO, Burner DAO, TempDAO
The ability to create a temporary DAO for short term projects, events, client work, etc. It could use templates so that it is quick and easy to setup a PopupDAO It would allow for easy shutting down of the DAO based on a date, condition, or manually. It could have configurations that make things happen quicker, e.g. motions, earning reputation, decaying reputation, etc.
Integrate Coin Machine with Colony
With Coin Machine being the primary funding mechanism created for DAOs on Colony, there should be a direct integration between the stand-alone Coin Machine and the Colony app.
Funding Queues
A mechanism for allocating funding based on collective, reputation based voting. Funding is in the form of a certain amount of tokens over time, either until funding is diverted elsewhere or required funding has been met. The more reputation has upvoted a proposal, the faster it will be funded. Think of it like a subreddit for allocating capital.
Comprehensive Staking-Based Reputation System
Comprehensive Staking-Based Reputation System Enhance Colony’s reputation system by allowing reputation to be earned and managed through token staking. This includes mechanisms for vesting, time-based accrual, proportional adjustments, and staking decay. These improvements align reputation with users’ financial commitment and sustained participation in the DAO. Secondary Suggestions: Vesting Period for Staked Reputation Description: Introduce a vesting period for reputation earned through token staking. Reputation accrues gradually and becomes fully vested only after a specified time (e.g., 1 month). How It Works: Time-Based Vesting: Reputation from staking accrues over the vesting period, with partial vesting during the period and full vesting at the end. Forfeit on Early Withdrawal: If tokens are unstaked before the vesting period is completed, users forfeit the reputation tied to those tokens. Why It’s Useful: Prevents users from quickly gaining and removing reputation by staking and unstaking, ensuring that reputation reflects long-term commitment. Time-Based Reputation Accrual for Staked Tokens Description: Allow reputation to accrue incrementally over the staking period, with reputation growth tied to both the amount and duration of staking. How It Works: Incremental Accrual: Reputation from staking grows daily, weekly, or monthly, providing a steady increase as tokens remain staked. Decay During Accrual: Decay applies continuously during staking, so users must keep tokens staked to maintain their accrued reputation level. Adjustment for Early Withdrawal: If users withdraw tokens before a defined staking period, the accrued reputation adjusts to reflect only the time tokens were staked. Why It’s Useful: This structure incentivizes users to stake tokens for longer periods to maximize reputation gains, aligning reputation with sustained involvement and commitment. Proportional Reputation Loss on Unstaking or Selling Tokens Description: Implement a system where users lose reputation proportionally if they unstake or sell tokens after the vesting period, reflecting the reduced commitment. How It Works: Reputation Adjustment on Withdrawal: When users sell or unstake tokens after the vesting period, a proportional amount of reputation decays based on the number of tokens removed. Customizable Proportion Settings: Allow DAOs to define the percentage of reputation loss when tokens are unstaked or sold, creating a flexible system based on their governance goals. Why It’s Useful: This feature discourages users from selling tokens without a corresponding effect on their reputation, ensuring that reputation remains an accurate indicator of commitment. Direct Staking-Based Reputation Description: Allow DAOs to base reputation primarily on staked tokens, with configurable accrual rates and decay tied to staking activity. How It Works: Staking-Based Reputation Generation: Users gain reputation as they stake tokens, with configurable multipliers for time, token amount, or pool requirements. Decay Linked to Staking: Reputation decays as toke
Contribute (Tasks/Projects/Objectives)
"Contribute" enables Colonies to define, organize, and reward work that needs to be done in order for the colony to achieve it's objectives. "Contribute" should allow autonomy for contributors to get involved efficiently. Tasks will likely be one of the first places contributors visit to determine if there is a place for them in a colony, or if there are ways for them to get involved. It will also be a place where followers will be able to see the colony’s progress. So, it should also provide an overview of what is getting done, such as showing stats on what is in progress, has been completed, outstanding, total paid out, etc. “Contribute” is made up of 4 different types; Objectives, Projects, Tasks, and Roles. There is also a component of work accountability with the “Status” component. Creating a full process for getting work done with recruiting, accountability, task completion and team transparency tool for colonies.

Personal Dashboard
The personal dashboard offers users a personalized page that includes all the details relevant to them across all colonies. Such as subscribed colonies, claim incoming funds, view history, notifications, balances, stakes, tasks, mentions, and more. Making it easier to get a snapshot of what is important and most relevant to you.
Nested Teams
Right now, Colony just has a single layer of teams possible under the Root team. With this feature, it will be possible to nest teams inside of teams to create more elaborate org structures. Providing teams and contributors to be more autonomous and efficient with decision making. For example: Marketing Branding Advertising Development Frontend Backend
Contributor & Creator Onboarding
Onboarding into Colony and DAOs in general needs to be improved. There is too much expectation on the user to understand the concepts and nomenclature of Web3. Also, with the current Colony creation process, users are left with a empty DAO and no clear instructions as to what the next steps are. The Colony creation and onboarding process needs to provide a more informed and clear process as well as aim to have a more complete and setup colony at the end. It should also provide recommendations on good next steps and help guide the user moving forward.
Comments & Discussion
We would like to provide a more advanced commenting and chat functionality throughout the app to help users to have better conversations and engage with each other easily. With the main purpose to be able to add addition notes or discuss a proposed action that is ongoing.
Safe Control
This feature allows for a greater decentralized treasury management by allowing a Safe (formerly Gnosis Safe) to be controlled using a colony's governance. A colony should be able to initiate token transfers and contract interactions in your Safe using the Motions process.

Same colony address across chains
Implement deterministic contract address for a colony so that colonies can operate seamless on different chains. There have been several instances where users have experienced a loss of funds by mistakenly sending funds to a colony address on a chain that colony does not support. This creates a really bad experience for users, even if not a direct result of Colony. To help combat this, and with Colony adding multi-chain support, we should also endeavor to ensure colonies have the same address across chains. In implementing multi-chain support with the same address on multiple chains, we should be able to reduce the risk of lost funds in this way while also enhancing functionality.
Multi-Chain Support
It has become increasingly important for decentralized platforms to operate across multiple chains. Colony platform aims to meet this demand by enabling users to seamlessly operate a colony on any one of the Colony-supported chains. Multi-chain functionality will allow users to carry out essential operations, such as receiving funds, making payments, and performing transactions, without being restricted to a single chain. This feature addresses the needs of an expanding user base that prefers diverse blockchain environments based on their specific project or community goals. By expanding support beyond one chain to other blockchains, Colony will become more competitive in the decentralized space, catering to a wider range of users and projects. By supporting multiple chains, it will provide enhanced flexibility and accessibility. Users will no longer face barriers due to chain incompatibility, and they will be empowered manage their colonies on the chain that best suits their needs, whether it be Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon, or others.
More wallet connection options
With many user wallet options available these days, it is important to allow users to be able to use their preferred wallet to connect to and use Colony with. We want to add more wallet connection options to the Colony app.
Agreement templates
Provides users with a repository of pre-defined templates for commonly needed agreements, such as contributor agreements, funding agreements, and decision-making structures. Users can select from these templates or create custom templates specific to their organization.
Clear network identifier on 'income' or add funds to colony
I thought our colony was on base, but when I see ‘view on arbiscan’ it seems like arbitrum is the right network. When I go to the ‘add funds’ page for the colony, I think it would take some of the fear away if there were a big clear dialog warning users to send on the correct network.
Transfer funds across chains
With Colony adding multi-chain support for colonies, it will be essential for colonies to be able to manage and transfer funds on the various chains. This should be built into the app and support all available decision methods, providing an intuitive, and secure way for fund management, regardless of chain.
Finances Dashboard
Incorporating financial reporting features and tools is designed to provide a focused interface on the financials of a decentralized team, offering real-time insights into balances, transfers, and general health of the organization. Users can easily access historical trends, generate future projections, and produce comprehensive financial reports. By providing this functionality, Colony empowers teams to make data-driven decisions. The dashboard also enables essential financial actions like fund transfers, payments, accounts management, and token management, with alert systems for financial red flags and in-depth analyses of income sources and expenditures.

Notifications
It is currently quite a manual process to remember to have to follow up on a colony you are contributing to, keep track of motions created and stakes that a ready to be claimed. It should be possible for members to be able to receive notifications based on activities happening within the colonies they are apart of or are following.
Dark Mode
To provide customisation to the experience of using the Colony app, there should be a dark mode option available to users.
Advanced Payments
The Advanced Payments feature will enable users to create more advanced payments to different users and addresses with multiple tokens, batch payments, split payments, staged payments and streaming payments. Advanced PaymentsFor more complicated payments involving multiple recipients receiving a number of different tokens at different times. Batch PaymentsUpload a CSV of tokens and recipients and send to all in a single Motion. Split PaymentsDivide a pot of funds evenly or unevenly between a set of recipients. Staged PaymentsA payment broken down into separate chunks which may be released in sequence or at achieved milestones. Useful for example to make partial payments upon delivery of agreed milestones. Streaming PaymentsContinuously stream tokens on a per second basis from multiple teams to a single recipient. Streams can be for a set period of time or indefinite. Useful for things like salaries.
